This is shown when he finishes the crossword puzzle before Red and Duck. With the new batteries, Yellow Guy becomes intelligent to the point of proving to be one step ahead of the others. It’s later revealed in Electricity, that his lack of intelligence stems from his low batteries. Which, according to Warren, is “the only place where he’ll have real best friends”. Resulting in him retreating to his brain. This is demonstrated when he becomes extremely upset over not getting an email on Colin. It is revealed in Friendship, that Yellow Guy is an escapist. Meanwhile, he is shown to very afraid when Colin, Shrignold, Meat Man and Spinach Can all appear, while being outright confused, yet still scared of all the new teachers. This is shown when Tony appears with Yellow Guy even mentioning how he “made him die” (relating to Tony rapidly aging him, Red Guy and Duck). He knows everything that happened in all previous episodes and even recognizes the past teachers. However, in the 6th episode, he realizes something is wrong and constantly tells the lamp to stop singing. He also sometimes questions the obvious and doesn't know the obvious. Instead, he is someone goofy, clumsy, stubborn, and gaunt, as he called Shrignold a "little baby pigeon", called his father a computer, and cut his finger with scissors in Death to see if smoke would emerge like Duck did. He doesn't seem to be intelligent when compared to his two friends. He is also very sensitive, which is shown when he becomes incredibly upset when Duck killed a butterfly. He has a childlike personality and he enjoys the sight of nature. Yellow Guy cutting off his finger with scissors in Death. (Most likely the one he received in Episode 2 of the web series.) His overalls are regular blue again, and he gained a wrist watch. He is now much fatter and wider and his jaw is different. In the TV series, his puppet is changed yet again. He wears a badge that reads "38 TODAY" (changes to "48 TODAY" at the end of the episode). His overalls are now a slightly purplish blue and his buttons are brown. He is even skinner, and his colors are more vibrant. In the unreleased TV series pilot, his puppet is changed entirely again. In Episode 6, he wears a white and pale cerulean striped pajamas. In Episode 4, his hair has changed back to a mullet and he has black shoes, judging by his 3D animated design. His buttons have changed from a dark blue to a lighter blue, and his shoes are now white. He is much skinnier, his pupils are now centered and his hair is short again. In Episode 3, his puppet is changed entirely again. His overalls are now greyish blue and his shoes are black. He is much taller and his hair is now long in the back, giving him somewhat of a mullet. In Episode 2, Yellow Guy's puppet is greatly improved. When he begins to “get creative”, He is much bigger, his nose is smaller, he has white shoes, more hair, and has an eerie smile on his face. He wears dark purplish blue overalls with a "D" stitched over the front pocket, and no shoes. He has a small, almost childlike body, with thin limbs and a wrinkly neck.
